A number of fish farms in western Norway have been fallowed in an attempt to combat the disease, which is ravaging Romsdalfjord. In addition to PD, farmers in this area have also battled infectious salmon anemia (ISA).
“There’s been a lot of disease in the area,” Andreassen told IntraFish. “We’re now going to run a joint fallowing campaign, which will lead to reduced production in the Romsdalsfjord.
“It will be interesting to see if we can get the better of the diseases through this initiative.
