It's a good time to be a shrimp producer in Vietnam.

For the first half of the year, the value of seafood exports from Vietnam rose 24.2 percent to $3.5 billion (€2.5 billion), and shrimp sales accounted for nearly half of that, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

With shrimp export sales expected to reach $3.5 billion (€2.6 billion) this year, while other countries continue to struggle with diseases such as Early Mortality Syndrome (EMS), Vietnamese farmers are already seeing the fruits of their labor with increasing demand from the United States, Europe, the Republic of Korea and China.
