Workers made the decision to strike following a meeting with Marine Harvest management, in which details of the plant closures in Poullaouen and Chateaugiron were lined out. Workers learned the Poullaouen factory is slated to close in March, Agence France Presse reported, but have been able to negotiate the factory closure to May.
