Milkfish is barely known outside of Asia, yet Fisherfarms is producing 20 metric tons a day from its offshore farms off the Philippines coast and CEO Imelda Madarang believes it could be a big hit in western markets.
Already exporting to Filipino communities in the United States, Canada, Korea, Australia and the Middle East, with further distribution in the UK, Netherlands, Spain, Norway and Austria, Madarang has high hopes the company can 'elbow' its way into the value-added market with more western products.
