Van de Kamp's frozen foods plant in Erie, Pa. will close in early July, meaning as many as 290 workers will lose their jobs.
The plant is being closed under a reorganization by New Jersey-based Pinnacle Foods Group, the parent company of Van de Kamp's.
Pinnacle Foods took ownership of the plant last year when it rescued the old parent company, Aurora Foods, from Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Aurora was in Chapter 11 after an accounting scandal that put is former chief executive in prison for securities fraud.
