In the first six months of the year, total salmon exports out of the United States grew 26.7 from 41,089 metric tons worth $206.5 million (€154.6 million) in 2013 to 52,067 metric tons worth $237 million (€177.5 million).
According to the latest statistics from the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), between January and June, sockeye salmon exports remained relatively stable in terms of volume, but saw a shift in terms of the product form, with more fresh and frozen sockeye being sold.
