A US supermarket is apologizing to its customers for the high price of shrimp.
Following numerous customer complaints, ShopRite’s chain of grocery stores sent out a memo to be posted in each of the 250 stores stating the reasons for increased cost.
“Please be aware that a worldwide shortage of shrimp has created higher prices on all varieties, brands and sizes of frozen and fresh shrimp. This shortage is affecting prices across the globe and is not specific to ShopRite stores or our operations,” the memo states.
