A group of US shrimp producers sued the US Department of Commerce last week, alleging it used faulty data in a decision to remove an antidumping duty order against one of China’s largest shrimp importers.

The Ad Hoc Shrimp Trade Action Committee alleges Commerce officials failed to recognize a disparity between the volume of shrimp Chinese exporter Zhanjiang Regal Integrated Marine Resources reported shipping to the United States and the amounts recorded by US Customs.

Jordan Kahn, an attorney with Picard Kentz & Rowe LLP, who filed the complaint on behalf of the Ad Hoc Shrimp Trade Action Committee, told IntraFish the number of shrimp Regal claimed they imported to the United States between Feb.
