US seafood veteran Ivor Sachs said he's retiring after three decades in the industry.

"I've had a long career," Sachs told IntraFish. "I decided I've paid my dues."

Sachs said he "got into the fish business" in 1985 with Alaska-based VWH, where he worked for six years. He then spent 13 years at Coast to Coast Seafood before transferring to Icicle Seafoods, where he spent 13 years as director of sales for the company's international division, ISI. The reason for leaving was unclear, but Sachs departed in January 2014, within months of CFO Robert Zonneveld and Vice President of Sales Rick Speed.
