Salmon prices are decidedly higher than they were three weeks ago, giving perpetuating a trend that began in the fall and was expected to drop off before beginning again in 2013. That is exactly what has happened.

In October, Chilean and Canadian farmed salmon prices began climbing out of the deep hole they dipped down into this year, and sources said October was slow as usual, prices began climbing again when the holiday season hit.

The price for salmon climbed on Thanksgiving Day for the first time in ten years and, prices have continued to increase over the course of December, affirming Grieg CFO Atle Sandtorv’s prediction that December would be a good month.
