When the United States Department of Justice released its antidumping duties against Vietnam earlier this month, many pangasius exporters expected a leap in prices, but according to industry sources the market has stabilized.

Depending on the quality, amount of soaking, and whether chemicals were used, the prices are ranging between $1.50 (€1.10) for lower quality products to $2 (€1.46) for chem-free fish, sources told IntraFish.

"A lot depends on the form, but lower moisture and lightly-treated fish is getting decent prices," said Charles Trager, director of purchasing at Beaver Street Fisheries.
