Cellular aquaculture company BlueNalu plans to move to a larger research facility to allow it to complete the first phase of its business plan.

San Diego-based BlueNalu produces a lab-grown range of seafood products directly from fish cells.

The company is targeting finfish, crustaceans and mollusks that are overfished, mainly imported, and difficult to farm raise.

BlueNalu aims to develop seafood products that are familiar to consumers, have high per capita consumption, command premium prices, and are under stress or challenged by environmental contamination, toxins, or pollutants, the company said.
