BioMar and Grupo ACI opened their joint venture tilapia feed plant in Costa Rica this week.
Chilean salmon giant AquaChile, which owns 80 percent of the tilapia producing company Grupo ACI, partnered with Biomar to build the plant, which will supply fish diets for aquaculture in Latin America, Alfonso Marquez de la Plata told IntraFish.
"The opening of this plant is part of the internationalization process of Empresas AquaChile and of sharing the knowledge we have successfully developed in Chile on the salmon industry and other parts of the world," de la Plata said in a statement.
