Young’s was quick to reassure workers no jobs are in jeopardy and dispelled the notion scampi production could fall behind.

The fire broke out around 1 a.m. while some 25 people were working the night shift, Young’s spokeswoman Chris Solloway told IntraFish.

Although the fire brigade was there within three minutes, the damage caused was extensive.

“The fire appears to have started in the frying hall,” Solloway said. “We have suspended production pending the outcome of the investigation. In the meantime, we have a contingency plan to ensure our scampi production will continue on schedule."
