Trident Seafoods, UniSea Inc., Peter Pan Seafoods, and Icicle Seafoods all agreed to prices starting at $3.50 (€2.77) per pound for the top-quality king crabs, sources told IntraFish on Thursday.
Earlier, Alyeska Seafoods, Westward Seafoods and Ocean Beauty Seafoods agreed to pay $3.65 (€2.89) a pound for king crab, less for the so-called No. 2 crab that contains barnacles and dirty shells and can’t be sold as No. 1 fancy clusters or single legs.
Most crab fishermen remained in port until they could get a price that was satisfactory to them, sources said.
