“There’s an uncertainty about trade with Russia that the industry has long ago learned to live with, and the challenges we’re facing now are not unique for Norway,” Trond Davidsen, director of trade policy and aquaculture at the Norwegian Seafood Federation (FHL), told IntraFish.
Recently there have been a number of notifications on the website of the Russian veterinary service Rosselkhoznadzor about temporary restrictions imposed on Norwegian firms, and the introduction of tighter laboratory inspections of products from several Norwegian enterprises and fishing vessels which deliver to Russia.
