Frozen fish giant Unilever says it will produce its entire line of Iglo fish fingers on the German market with Marine Stewardship Council-certified Alaska pollock, with other markets in Europe to follow, the largest single market move into the sustainable seafood arena.
Production of three German market variants of Iglo fish fingers carrying the MSC logo will begin in May, with product hitting the retail shelves in June, according to Dierk Peters, Unilever’s international marketing manager for sustainability initiatives frozen foods.
