Sales of warmwater shrimp at UK retailers saw its value plummet 13 percent, with 12,277 metric tons sold for £119.2 million (€150.2 million/$197.9 million) in the 12 months to August 6.

According to the most recent Nielsen stats, fresh warmwater shrimp saw both its volume and value drop.

Sales amounted to 7,623 metric tons for the year, down 21 percent, and were valued at £135.4 million (€170.1 million /$224.1 million ), down 9 percent year-on-year.

Frozen warmwater shrimp sales also saw decreases.
