UK sees 43% slump in fish landings, 37% in returns

UK fish sales saw a slump in value in February this year of more than a third compared with February 2012, down by 37 percent, reported the European Market Observatory for Fisheries and Aquaculture Products (EUMOFA).

Volume fell even further, and was down 43 percent in the same period. 

In its April 2013 Monthly Highlights report, EUMOFA said the heavy falls continue a trend, as decreases in February this year compared with two years ago in February 2011 dropped 31 percent by value and 25 percent by volume.

The
