UK farmer Anglesey Aquaculture is set to start supplying its fresh seabass to British Whole Foods Market outlets soon, after signing a supply contract with the retailer on Wednesday.

The first fish will be available in the grocery chain's seven UK stores from June 10, the company said in a statement, sent to IntraFish.

The company was recently give a "grade 1 rating" by the Marine Conservation Society (MCS), underlining the sustainable production of the fish.

"This contract with Whole Foods Market is the icing on the cake; it’s a perfect fit and acknowledges that we go about our business and raise our fish in the right way," Kenny Woods, sales manager at Anglesey Aquaculture, said.
