Humberside's fish processing and merchant sector is anxiously awaiting details of the sanctions the European Union is poised to impose on Icelandic and Faroese fish products.

Details of just what the sanctions will be have still to emerge and the Humberside processing industry is worried that if they include sanctions against whitefish, vital raw material supplies of cod and haddock from Iceland -- and to a lesser extent the Faroes -- could be cut off.
