UK fisheries minister Richard Benyon has been dropped from the post of fisheries and environment minister he has held since the coalition government came to power in 2010.

Political commentators said Benyon was a victim of UK Prime Minister David Cameron’s efforts to make his ministerial team more representative of the general population, with more women, ethnic minority and northern Members of Parliament (MPs) being promoted to ministerial posts.

Benyon was reportedly replaced by Charles George Eustice, a Conservatice Party politician, elected in 2010 as an MP for Camborne and Redruth, according to BBC News.
