UK fish fryers are confident for the future, with average prices for fish and chips up to around £5.50 (€7.60/$8.50), a return to levels seen three years ago.
“The price is back up after a few years of being weakened, which I think is because of an increase of national demand, especially with haddock, which has seen a reduction in the quota from the Barents sea,” said Stuart Atkinson, vice president of the Federation of Fish Fryers.
