Gilde Investment Management, former owner of German seafood producer Pickenpack and a former minority shareholder in Heiploeg, will take over Heiploeg through a share purchase.

Heiploeg CEO Hans Luit told IntraFish the deal puts Heiploeg under " comparable" ownership, and will not likely result in any major shift in strategy or personnel changes.

Heiploeg, based in Zoutkamp, Holland, is one of Europe's largest shrimp suppliers, with a dominant market share in Belgium, Netherlands and Luxemborg in particular.

The firm was divided into two parts in September after former owner Simon Lenger purchased the firm's €80 million ($95 million) shellfish division, renaming it The Shellfish Group.
