Last year, during the same five months last year, the United States imported 60.7 million kilos of tilapia worth $185.6 million (€134.6 million).
The United States exports the most tilapia from China, including $113 million (€81.9 million) so far this year for 35.9 million kilos of frozen fillets, compared to $67 million (€48.6 million) last year for 22 million kilos. That’s an increase of 68 percent in value.
