Shipments to the United States totaled 116.4 million kilograms, down from 123.9 million kilos in the first six months of 2009. The value of the 2010 imports is $896.9 million (€697.5 million),up from $843 million (€655.9 million), the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) reported.
Norway overtook Chile to become the leading supplier of Atlantic salmon fresh fillets, boosting exports from 7.6 million kilos worth $64.8 million (€50.4 million) to 13.3 million kilos worth $135.2 million (€105.2 million).
