Palo Alto, Calif.-based Capricorn Investment Group and Sutherland-based Loch Duart reached a deal Jan. 23, though neither party would reveal the percentage of the investment or the value.

Loch Duart, with 3,600 metric tons of annual production, is one of a handful of remaining Scottish-owned salmon farmers.

Managing Director Nick Joy, who holds a stake in the company along with partners Andy Bing, Robert Bing and Alan Balfour, told IntraFish and Fish Farming International he approached Capricorn via a U.S. contact around one year ago.
