Figures from the Norwegian Seafood Export Council (NSEC) reveal in the first two months of the year, the United States imported 2,493 metric tons Norwegian salmon.

The value of Norwegian salmon exports has reached NOK 88.1 million (€9.8 million/$12.3 million).

At the same time last year, the United States imported 1,601 metric tons, at a value of NOK 52.2 million (€5.8 million/$7.3 million): an increase of NOK 35.9 million (€4 million/$5 million).

There is a high punitive duty on exports of fresh whole salmon from Norway to the United States.
