The “Healthy Kitchens, Healthy Lives” conference is aimed at giving the healthcare industry a better idea of how nutritional food choices can result in improved health, said Greg Drescher, senior director of strategic initiatives at the CIA.

“This is really unique,” Drescher told IntraFish. “We want to create a bit of a movement among physicians in the healthcare field. A lot of physicians don’t get nutritional education, they just pay lip service to better diets.”

Better diets, including one rich in omega-3s, need to start with doctors and health care professionals setting a better example, Drescher said.
