“In regard to the fish that are sold at various auctions in the United Kingdom, these are dominated by Icelandic whitefish," said Terje Kjolsoy, sales director of Aker Seafoods. "We were informed that 98 percent of the auctioned white fish are from Iceland, while only 2 percent are Norwegian. It goes without saying that the British want to be less dependent on Icelandic fish."
Kjolsoy made the comments following a recent trade mission to the seafood region of Humberside in northern England.
