Last week, longtime anti-farmed salmon activist Alexandra Morton gave testimony to the House of Commons Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans in Ottawa.

She alleged there is resistance to use of SLICE in controlling sea lice, said it is likely infectious salmon anemia is present on Marine Harvest salmon farms in British Columbia, and told lawmakers there is a general proliferation of disease at salmon farms.

"The question about drug resistance in lice ... it's inevitable. As soon as you have a monoculture, the parasites increase, because there are no predators and because all the hosts are packed together," she told lawmakers.
