Charlie McBride and his son Charles Jr. -- stars of the BBC program Trawlermen -- were given two-month and three-month sentences, respectively, at Liverpool Crown Court last week, reported IntraFishMedia publication Fishing News.
The pair, who operate a fishing boat from Kilkeel, were found guilty of attempting to dispose of their court-frozen assets in a bid to pay off massive fines and penalties imposed after a major case in 2007 involving black fish landings from the Irish Sea.
The jailing of the father and son team outraged and astounded many in the fishing industry throughout the United Kingdom.
