Discounter Aldi has been targeted in a trademark infringement lawsuit by US-based firm American Tuna, according to WIPR.
The company filed a suit against Aldi at the US District Court for the Southern District of California on Sept. 16, claiming the discounter infringed its brand Pole & Line, which it has held as a common law trademark since January 2014.
American Tuna claims Aldi used the Pole & Line mark to sell canned fish and related products similar to its own products.
It also alleges Aldi has “passed their products and services off in a manner calculated to deceive plaintiff’s customers and members of the general public."
