The new incubation and hatchery facility, with a capacity of 100 million eggs per year, will enable the company to better manage its production and sales of eyed rainbow trout eggs for farmers throughout Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
The new building, initial construction of which began in September, is located on the existing Glen Wyllin Trout Farm site in Kirk Michael. It replaces an existing outdated facility the company says was ill-equipped to meet its needs.
Glen Wyllin -- which was acquired by Troutlodge in late 2007 -- recently completed its first full shipping season under complete Troutlodge management, and supplied nearly 30 million eggs to farmers in 22 countries during the November-April season.
