When Alex Domnenkov registered his new seafood company, Triton Seafoods, in April, he says he had no idea he'd be facing a potential lawsuit from one of the industry's biggest companies just five months later.

In a letter dated Sept. 25, an attorney for Davis Wright Tremaine, representing Trident, states the use of the name Triton infringes on Trident's trademark and name recognition. Triton, located south of Seattle, is a wholesale broker andexporter of frozen seafood and salmon roe.

Citing Triton's website, the attorney wrote, "Your services are marketed in channels of trade which directly overlap with Trident's trade channels."
