Trident Seafoods on Friday officially took over the former Pickenpack factory in Riepe, Germany, the company's first foray into European processing and a hopeful sign the country's frozen fish sector will gain some stability.
Trident announced the acquisition in early April, along with sales division Pickenpack Vertriebs (PPV).
Former Managing Director of Trident European Business Operations Stefan Kleemeyer, himself a former Pickenpack executive, was named managing director of the new Trident operations.
"The team we have assembled to lead this division of Trident is world-class and we are looking forward to a bright future," Trident CEO Joe Bundrant told IntraFish.
