The fish fillet at Jack-in-the-Box hasn’t been selling well for the past six years, but executives are hoping a new deal with US seafood giant Trident Seafoods will help.
Last month, an executive for Trident, number 11 on IntraFish's Top 150, announced the company had signed a contract to sell Alaska pollock certified by the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute (ASMI), and an entirely new product, fish bites, to the US-based fast-food restaurant chain starting next year.
The new product line and branding from ASMI is scheduled to kick off in the weeks leading up to the 2014 religious holiday of Lent.
