The Aker group, where Norwegian fisheries magnate Kjell Inge Rokke is a major stockholder, announced last Friday Aker Biomarine, which is already engaged in trial fishing for krill, intends to go public on the Oslo Stock Exchange in the first half of 2007.

In the wake of the massive interest shown for fishing krill the Norwegian Ministry of Fisheries and Coastal Affairs has sent out a circular for public comment, which clearly indicates exploitation of natural resources around the Antarctic is not just a Norwegian concern.
