The Norwegian government announced Friday it won over the EU in the WTO salmon case, which is looking into the legality of salmon trade measures against Norway, namely a minimum import price (MIP) implemented in 2006.

Later that day, the European Union claimed it won.

It’s interesting Norway's foreign affairs minister is refraining from any comment except to say he's waiting for the final conclusions.

It would appear a rather complex situation has arisen, all fairly reminiscent of a play for positions in advance of the final publishing of the WTO conclusions.
