It was with a heavy heart that I read the latest 'comment' by Greenpeace on the state of world fisheries and saw, to my disappointment but not surprise, that they have once again managed to steer clear of anything remotely related to the facts in their bid to do another 'hatchet job' on the fishing industry.

It's difficult to explain my reaction to this latest article without first giving readers the main points -- I would call them 'high points' but since they are so far beneath the truth, perhaps 'low points' would be a better term to use.

Their article states that a fishing boat is not a fishing boat when it’s a factory fishing vessel -- and goes on to say that fishing is increasingly becoming big, industrialized business and that "monstrous" vessels are  traveling around the world "hoovering up" sea life and trashing local communities in the process.
