Fish producers in Norway had to accept that they received 15 percent less for one kilo of salmon than was the case for the previous week, but a salmon price of NOK 40 (€5.02/$6.40) provides the producers with a considerable profit, or in real terms twice as much as it costs to produce the fish.

Consequently, there is no need to feel sorry for salmon producer, and the fall in prices could actually ease the job of selling the salmon in the all-important EU market.
