The International Labour Organisation (ILO) and Thai officials met Wednesday to agree on good labor practices for fishing and seafood workers in the country, according to the Bangkok Post.

The new measures, which include improvements in worker registration, employment contracts and a ban on child and forced labor will begin taking effect next month, the Bangkok Post reported, with fishing ports being the first area to be audited for improvements.

Improvements on fish farms, seafood factories and fishing vessels will be enforced beginning in June.
