Thailand has added a "forced labor or service" component to its anti-human trafficking law, according to Reuters.

Under the new provision anyone found guilty can be jailed for four years and fined $12,516 (€10,653) with more severe penalties if a victim is harmed.

Last July, the US State Department lifted its rating of Thailand in its annual Trafficking in Persons Report (TIP), bolstering the reputation of one of America's key seafood suppliers.
