A Thai Union Group representative declined to clarify or comment in further detail about last week's announcement the company's subsidiary Chicken of the Sea Frozen Foods (COSFF) is joining forces with Orion Seafood International to source and sell lobster, snow crab from Maine and Atlantic Canada.
It remains unclear whether the partnership is a marketing joint venture or whether COSFF has acquired New Hampshire-based Orion. When asked directly last week if COSFF has purchased Orion, Chicken of the Sea Marketing Manager Bogdan Serbu told IntraFish the company had nothing to say at this time.
