Thai shrimp processor acquiring U.K. supplier

A Thai shrimp processor and exporter is in talks to acquire a U.K. seafood supplier as part of plans to expand in Europe.

Bangkok-based Seafresh Industry Public Company Limited -- a listed company with revenues of $77 million (€58.4 million) -- is in the process of acquiring 75 percent of Blue Earth Foods U.K., a  notice to the Thailand stock exchange shows.

The remaining 25 percent will be acquired by Seafresh Industry Invest (SII), a new subsidiary that Seafresh is setting up in the United Kingdom, Seafresh said.
