Sponsored by the Alaska Fisheries Development Foundation (AFDF), the winners in each category – retail, foodservice, smoked -- will be sent to the International Boston Seafood Show in March for display and promotion.

The entries will be prepared and displayed by professional culinary staff and judged on Jan. 25 in Seattle. Feedback from the judging will be available after the contest.

“People are still being innovative in the competition,” Bob Pawlowski, executive director of AFDF, told IntraFish.

Pawlowski said he hopes this year's contest, the 14th, will draw more entrants and spur more creative use of wild Alaskan seafood.
