Sustainability overhaul vital to future EU seafood image

The DFF’s members include importers, processors and distributors, but the CFP will affect the whole chain and not just fishermen, DFF President Guus Pastoor told IntraFish.

“The Common Fisheries Policy is extremely important. The EU products on the market are not in best position due to a lack of perceived sustainability by consumers. This is very frustrating,” he said.

Pastoor commented all his members had a vested interest in the health of the sea and any change to fishing policy will ultimately affect the whole supply chain.
