North Carolina-based Sunburst Trout Farms is bringing education, aquaculture and tourism together in a new processing facility and learning center, but it needs financial help.
Instead of just turning to a bank for a loan or lender, Sally Eason, CEO of Sunburst, which was started by her father Dick Jennings in 1948, launched a Kickstarter campaign, an online fundraiser, asking people to help the company raise the $16,000 in 30 days.
“Our current processing facility is not big enough or close enough to town for this purpose,” Eason said.
