After nearly a two-week strike, workers at Canada-based Cooke Aquaculture subsidiary Salmones Cupquelan signed a three-year agreement with its workers union.
Nell Halse, spokeswoman for Cooke Aquaculture, told IntraFish Monday the deal was reached on Saturday, Oct. 26 after days of dialog and mediation by the Aysen Labour Authorities.
"It has always been a priority for Cupquelan S.A., to maintain the best working relationship with its employees, union workers," Halse said. "With this new contract in place we can focus our joint efforts on growing the company."
The
