Stingray Marine Solutions CEO John Breivik offered the listeners at the IntraFish Seafood Investors Forum an advanced technical solution to the battle against sealice.
The Stingray System uses a laser unit that detects sea lice in the pens, and shoots a very precise laser beam that kills the lice.
Breivik called its optical delouser, a “game changer,” born from the need to solve the sea lice problem from a technological approach.
“As the fish is swimming around in the pens, we can position ourselves horizontally or vertically, and we can rotate, making it possible for us to position ourselves where we need to be when the fish goes swimming by.
